Rick Najera’s live stage comedy, DADDY DIARIES: Diary of a DAD MAN was created, written and performed by Najera and directed for stage by Gary Blumsack. The show explores Najera’s life as “Hollywood Guy” turned “Daddy Guy”, with the voice of his Mexican Dad ringing in his head.
In Daddy Diaries: Diary of a Dad Man, Najera comically explores life from bachelorhood to fatherhood, and family life with a Latino twist. Najera is an award-winning actor-writer-director-producer and noted playwright with credits in film (Nothing Like the Holidays), television (MADtv, In Living Color) and theatre including Broadway (Latinologues).
“There is one thing that fatherhood hasn’t changed in Najera: His ability to land a well-timed punch line,” states Theatre Jones critic, Mark Lowry. “Daddy Diaries: Diary of a Dad Man, which mixes monologue and stand-up and is directed by Gary Blumsack, is funny and more poignant than anything we’ve seen from Najera before.”
